Oil Sales Jobs

Sales Recruiters deal with many different types of oil sales jobs at many different points in the chain. In the physical oil market there are downstream oil sales jobs, which involves selling to end users such as construction and transport companies or more upstream oil sales jobs which involves international selling on a much larger scale. There’s two markets that downstream oil distributors supply to, domestic and commercial. Domestic supplies are made to homes that use heating oil for there heating system, order sizes are between 500 litres to 2000 litres, with 1.5 million homes using heating oil in the UK its a large market. Commercial supplies are made to many different types of businesses from farmers for trackers to haulage companies for their trucks, the two oils sold in the commercial market are red diesel and white diesel, order sizes range from 1000 litres up to 36,000 litres of oil. Salaries range from 24k to 45k plus commission.

Upstream oil jobs involves international buying or selling of oil to distributors and importers throughout the world. Order sizes range from 100,000 litres to 100 million litres. You will have to keep up with the market and be able to think and calculate prices on your feet. Alot of the job is building strong relationships with clients and logistics. Salaries can range from 40k to 80k sometimes plus commission.

Oil traders buy and sell oil in many cases without taking ownership of the oil itself, trading oil is about getting information and knowing where the market is, therefore being a trader your life is mostly either on msn or on the telephone trying to get an overview of the market. The role can be very stressful and you need to be very good with numbers and have experience trading in the markets. Salaries range from 45k to 80k plus commissions.
