Graduate Sales Jobs
Graduate salespeople are salespeople who have just had a university education. Some courses specialise in business marketing and similar courses which can give the individual proven strategies and processes to help the company they work for to gain business. This type of salesperson is not always relied on to do hard sales B2C/B2B (Business to Customer/Business to Business) but rather discus and organise the methods in which the other salespeople should go about selling the product.
A graduate salesperson is still classed as a trainee salesperson simply because they have no recordable experience of them successfully selling. Because of this they are likely to only be able to earn between 12 and 24k a year. This would not include commission as this would also have its benefits.
Some companies that have a budget for training like to bring on graduate salespeople to mould them into their preferred methods of selling. Because the person does not know any other way and are usually eager to learn it’s an easy method of passing on tips and tricks to the graduate to turn them into a skilled salesperson. This can also have the opposite effect as they might believe they know best after studying the different aspects in their university course. Companies need people to listen and do what they been told which could create problems if a graduate is unwilling to listen to a different opinion of how the company should be run.
Some daily tasks this type of salesperson might undertake could be undertaking sales activities in a specified area. Developing new business and customers by using different methods of selling, for example face to face. If working for a company must maintain the company’s sales. It is always important to keep an eye on competitors in your sector to match any promotions they are offering or if their products might affect your sales plans.
